This alphabetical index, which is arranged according to the guests’ surnames, features all legible names in the transcript as well as names that are uncertain in terms of legibility. Surnames with illegible components have been omitted, whereas first names with illegible components have been included in that at least the initial letter of the first name can be read. In cases where the initial part of the first name, or the entire first name, is illegible, the name has been omitted without further reference: only the surname has been listed. People who signed the guest book with their first names alone and could not be identified have been excluded as well.

Some of the names as they appear in the guest book are incomplete (e. g. omission of components of aristocratic names) or derive from their official forms (e. g. Mitzi instead of Marie or the addition of maiden names to married names). As far as possible, the complete or official forms have been used. Variants that are helpful in finding an entry on the cited page of the guest book appear in parentheses.

For Austrian aristocratic names, we have used the form in general use until 1918 irrespective of subsequent legislation.
