Transcription guidelines

Illegible words and names, or illegible components of words and names, are marked with „[…]“. A „[?]“ that appears directly after a word or name signals uncertainty in its reading. Various comments and translations appear in square brackets.

In the transcript, we were able only partly to depict the order of the individual entries on the pages of the guest book.

A note on pagination: The pages of the original were retroactively numbered on the front side (at lower right). Individual image files are named according to these page numbers, whereby the front sides are identified with the addition of “r” (= “recto”) and the back sides with “v” (= “verso”). 

Blank pages are not depicted.
